Welcome to the
Homepage of St. Michael's |
|
Welcome to the web-site of St.
Michael's Anglican Church, located in Beaulieu-sur-Mer in the
South of France. |
| We
are a relatively small community, but alive, active and
welcoming, representing people of every age and of a wide
variety of nationalities - including English, Welsh, Scottish,
Irish, American, Canadian, Australian, German, Dutch,
Icelandic, Finnish and Romanian. |
| Our
worship centres on our 10 o'clock Sunday Eucharist, celebrated
according to Common Worship order one and followed by
refreshments in the garden or in the south aisle. |
| Our
congregation includes Lutherans, Presbyterians and Roman
Catholics, many of whom play a leading role in our activities;
we have excellent relations with the town council and with the
French Catholic parish and our church is also used by the
Danish Lutheran community on the Cote d'Azur. |
| The
Chaplain is Canon Roger Greenacre, formerly of St. George's
Paris, and of Chichester Cathedral. We serve the area between
Nice and Monaco; Villefranche, St. Jean - Cap Ferrat,
Beaulieu, Eze and Cap d'Ail. |
| In
2003 we celebrated the centenary of the church's consecration
with a music festival and an ecumenical procession through the
town from St. Michael's to the church of the Sacrė-Coeur
with the Bishop of Nice and the Archbishop of York. |
|
